From the other shore (14u)
This documentary follows Sylvana and Mohammed, both from Lebanon, each navigating life with perspectives and movements distinct from the norm. Sylvana maneuvers through the world in a wheelchair, while Mohammed embraces the world without sight. Their camaraderie blossoms during shared walks, a collaborative effort where Mohammed guides Sylvana's wheelchair and she, in return, directs their path. During these walks, they delve into discussions about their yearning for autonomy in their lives and the daily obstacles they encounter. They come to the realization that these challenges are not solely physical but intertwined with societal expectations.
'From the Other Shore' offers a glimpse into the everyday lives of individuals with disabilities, revealing not only the frustration stemming from societal exclusion but also the resilience found in friendship.
