Victor

Director: Christophe Hermans Year: 2019 Duration: 72' Spoken language: French Subtitles: Dutch Partner: GRIP

It’s the first time the Leuven DisABILITY film festival got hold of a premiere, and it’s quite the one. With this documentary, director Christophe Hermans amazed at the Festival du Film Francophone in Namen. The film was mainly praised because of the way it portrays it’s main character and his handicap.

Victor is slowly but surely getting blind. The documentary poignantly portrays his struggle with this handicap, the perseverance with which he lives his life, but especially the fact that he, like everyone, wants to belong somewhere. To find this sense of belonging, he wants to go to university and study law.

Prior to the movie we welcome Lies Corneillie, Hilde Feys en Tom De Haene, special guests on this opening screening of the 10th edition of Leuven’s DisABILITY film festival. Afterwards we offer you all a drink on our opening reception
