De premier (The prime minister) - with audiodescription!

Director: Erik Van Looy Year: 2016 Duration: 102' Spoken language: Dutch Subtitles: Dutch Partner: VEBES

Get ready for some Belgian thriller, because the Belgian prime minister is kidnapped! In order to get released he has to do only one task. Sounds simple? Well, we don’t think so… The screenplay for the film was consulted by Yves Leterme, the former Prime Minister of Belgium, himself.

The film was co-selected by the Association of the Blind and the Visually Impaired (VEBES) with whom the DisABILITY film festival has been working for several years now. Every year, together with the people at VEBES, we look for ways to program at least one film that already contains audio description. Audio description makes it possible for visually impaired people to also watch series and films. A voice-over tells the viewer what is on the screen, but not heard. This audio description can be played synchronously with the film via the Earcatch app, so that blind and partially sighted people can also enjoy cinema.

If you want to use the audio description, you have to go through the following before the screening: Download the earcatch app on your smartphone. Open the app and find the movie The Prime Minister. Download the audio description on your phone now. At the start of the live stream, open the app again and start the audio description. Your phone will display the AD in sync with the movie.
