Chained for Life
A filmmaker decides to record a horror movie in an old hospital. Mabel, an actress, portrays the role of a blind woman who falls in love with a man with a disfigured face, and struggles to connect with her costar. Meanwhile, the media criticises the movie for their use of ‘real freaks’. When Mabel seeks out her costar after filming, he turns out to be so much more than just a disfigured face.
In its own unique way, Chained for Life criticises the classic, static ways in which many movies give meaning to normalcy, beauty, ugliness and disability.
